We want to reactivate this immaterial tradition and take the poets through the peregrination experience aiming at the dissemination of the Santiago’s Way as a mythical space to write poetry about nowadays. Inspired by the routes showed in the book Arrodeos de Desvíos do Camiño de Santiago, Uxío Novoneyra’s last book of poems — who was also a recognised modernizer of the troubadour poetry— we propose six residences of writing and poetic peregrination through the Santiago’s Way on Galician territory. This third call is defined in the programme «O teu Xacobeo» by Xunta de Galicia and belongs as well to the project Europa Creativa «BE(P)ART Grow With Arts» aiming to bring the literary creation closer to the younger generations through a participative methodology and network. When? Residences will be carried out from 16th September to 2nd October 2022 with the following schedule: 2022/09/16 – Poets arrival to Lavacolla Airport/Intermodal Station Santiago de Compostela. 2022/09/17 – Planning Day with the organization at Uxío Novoneyra Foundation Headquarters (O Courel). 2022/09/18–2022/09/25: Peregrination through the French Way between Vilafranca do Bierzo e Santiago de Compostela. 2022/09/26: Transfer Santiago-Courel. 2022/09/27-2022/09/30: Readings and poetry workshops in 8 schools from municipalities of the French Way. 2022/10/01: Jacobean poetry reading at Uxío Novoneyra Foundation (O Courel) 2022/10/02: Return from Santiago de Compostela. The Foundation will take care of the hospitality expenses: transport, documentation, lodgings and food of the poets throughout the residences’ period. How to participate? The poets interested in participating should send an email to ametomitico@uxionovoneyra.com before 30th July: Letter of interest. Updated CV. Contact data. Copy of passport/ID. Sample of their published poetry (100 verses). A committee formed by 3 Uxío Novoneyra Foundation protectors or team members will name the selected poets on 10th August. The list of selected poets will be published on the social media of the Foundation and in this webpage. The Foundation will be in touch with the selected poets in order to communicate their participation on the III «Ámeto Mítico» residences on the Santiago’s Way. This edition of the travelling residencies “Ámeto Mítico” is part of the BE(p)ART – GROW WITH ARTS project, an initiative funded by the European Commission’s Creative Europe programme. The aim of BE(p)ART is to bring literary creation to the younger population and to create new audiences through a participatory and networking methodology.
